Glyfada beach is without doubt the most famous Corfu beach. Almost a mile of sandy beach with crystal clear waters and lots of facilities; being just 15min from Corfu town, has turned this beach into one of Corfu's major attractions. Corfu Glyfada stretches along the foot of a pine-covered mountainside on the west coast of Corfu. The facilities on the beach are endless: beach volley (2), beach football, beach bars, sunbeds and umbrellas, water sports, changing lockers and showers, party events and many more.
It won't be easy (or cheap) to find accommodation for your Corfu holidays in Glyfada as the resort has only a couple of hotels and a number of superior quality apartments and studios. During the night the area gets very quiet, only a couple of restaurants operate until late. For more options the guests of the area are visiting Pelekas village, 5km up the hill.
Parking at Glyfada can be found for 3 Euro for the whole day but be warned - in August gets full before noon!
Glyfada is the closest sandy beach from Corfu port, thus it's popular among cruise passengers; click here for a transfer to Glyfada beach or here if you wish to combine a beach day with a tour in town!
