Vido is the small island across Corfu's commercial port. Vido has a lush green vegetation consisted mostly from cypresses and pine trees. Few years ago the town hall decided to fill it with herbivore animals and it's now full of rabbits, pheasants and few goats. Hundreds of birds make their nest on Vido since it's a natural paradise away from population.

Vido is uninhabited but the local administration uses it for camping holidays for children during the summer season. There is also a Serbian mausoleum dedicated to the Serbian troops who found selter after their defeat during WW1.

It is a fantastic get-away during the summer for those who live in Corfu town. The lash vegetation provides shadow during every step you take on the island. There is calmness and relaxing atmosphere all over the place and a couple of sandy and pebble beaches were you can have a refreshing dive during the hot summer days. Through your way to the beaches you will notice the rabbits which are coming very close and a couple of hidden spots which are actually ruins of fortification of the previous centuries.

A visit to Vido is reccommended to everyone who visits Corfu town. The boat departs from the old port, next to BP petrol station. There are several routes to the island every hour, starting from early morning until sunset. The ticket cost approximately 2Euro per person - no need to book in advance!
