Corfu Vitalades beach is another sandy-shallow water beach in the south of Corfu. The bay protects from the north wind and the shallow waters get warm fast during the sunny days. Vitalades is an organised beach: sunbeds, umbrellas and occasionally some water sports are to be found there. The local restaurants serve Greek and international cuisine and the beach has the Eu's blue flag for the purity of the water and the facilities (changing rooms, showers, etc) of the area.
Vitalades is recommended for families with children for Corfu holidays as it is described as one of the warmest of the island.
Getting to Vitalades with public transportation is not recommended. It will take almost two hours from Corfu town each way! Rent a car or a motorbike: the road is beautifull and it will take you faster! If you are adventurus try to find the Mega Horos beach. It's next to Vitalades, isolated during week days and you will have a sandy beach of a mile long on your own! Getting there involves a few minutes driving on dirt road and instructions from the locals.
