Ipsos is very popular with young Italian visitors in July and August, when it is lively and noisy and there is lots going on. It's the very next resort after Dassia, only 15km from Corfu town and it is accesible by local bus. Ipsos is another Corfiot beach which has been awarded with the EU's blue flag for the cleanness of the water and the beach facilities.
The beach is a mix of sand and pebble with clear shallow waters. Ipsos is about 1,5 km long
with a couple of organised water sports facilities (including scuba diving with boat transfer to diving area), sea-front restaurants, fast food establishments, beach bars, shops, rental offices, supermarkets, pharmacies and free medical center. You can rent a couple of sunbeds and an umbrella for approximately 7Euro for the whole day.
There aren't really big hotels in Ipsos and the accommodation establishments are mostly studios and apartments. If you are coming to Corfu for your summer holidays with your friends this is an ideal resort for cheap accommodation properties (apart from July and August) within walking distance from the beach. If night life is what you are looking for, in Ipsos the parties are daily in high season and the clubs stay open until morning hours.
Tip: if you have your own vehicle (car or bike) take the road to Agios Markos village at the end of the resort. It's a beautifull drive with lovely views of the traditional village, through some of Corfu's ancient olive groves and relaxed atmosphere. The surroundings are also offered for biking and cycling.
