Peroulades is a sandy beach of unique beauty, located in northwest Corfu. Over the centuries, the coastal rock formations with their imposing cliffs were eroded by the pounding of the Ionian Sea and the magnificent beach was created. Corfu Peroulades is considered by many to be Corfu's most beautiful beach. "More" magazine included Peroulades beach in its list of the top 5 most amazing beaches ever!

The paleolithic rocks have a geological significance but since a part of the cliffs is composed of clay, the locals use it on their skin just as you would at a spa. Many people insist that the clay treatment reliefs bone pain while others do it for their skin.
Peroulades beach doesn't have many facilities but if you are visiting Corfu for your summer holidays, a stop at this beach is reccommended. The beauty of the area, especially at sunset, is not to be missed. There is a beach bar above - about 100 steps but well worth it, and a free shower to use but other than that you are on your own. Some sunbeds and umbrellas for rent can be found on the beach, but not necessarily every day (the tide sometimes covers most of the sandy part).

Once you get to Peroulades Beach, hire a pedalo or a canoe in order to visit one of the neighbouring, isolated beaches. There are some bays in the area which create sandy little beaches with shallow waters and occasionally some sea caves are to be found at either end of the beach. Next to Peroulades, there is the "Drastis cape", a place where the white rocks surround the natural tyrqoise colour pools formated in an isolation setting without human intervention. Getting to Dastis though requires a bit of dirt road starting from Peroulades village.
This is not a typical local beach and to get there you need an hour driving from Corfu town or more if you decide to take a bus!
